Before you visit

Please use our search facility to identify records of interest to you. Documents on the index are not available to view on line and must be researched in person. Unfortunately, we cannot undertake research of any kind on your behalf, but if you go to our Resources page, there are the contact details of independent researchers.

Opening Hours

Thursday and Friday from 8am until 4pm by appointment only.

Please remember to bring ID containing your address.

Lockers are provided for bags and personal belongings.

It is necessary to make an appointment by letter, telephone or e-mail before visiting; casual visitors are not admitted.

Disabled access

Although there is no separate disabled access, we will make every effort to accommodate your needs.
